Bruins Face Panthers in Playoff Opener
Boston Looks to Avoid Presidents Trophy Curse
Bruins Will Need to Get the Ice Bags Ready
The Bruins started the playoffs with a strict rotation through the first three games of the first round. They will need to get the ice bags ready against a Panthers team that peppers the net both from Grade A and B areas.
The Presidents Trophy curse will continue for at least another year as the Boston Bruins lost 4-3 in overtime to the Florida Panthers in Game 7 of their first-round playoff series on Sunday.
The Bruins were the second seed in the Atlantic Division, while the Panthers were the top seed. Boston had home-ice advantage in the series, but it didn't matter as the Panthers won three of the four games at TD Garden.
The Bruins swept the four-game regular season series against the Panthers, but that does not erase the fact that the Panthers are a dangerous team.
