Mavs Acquire PJ Washington in a Three-Team Trade
Mavericks Acquire PJ Washington from Hornets
The Dallas Mavericks have agreed to a trade that will send forward Grant Williams, guard Seth Curry, and a first-round pick to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for forward PJ Washington, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Mavericks Make Splash Before Deadline
The Mavericks have been active in the trade market ahead of Thursday's deadline, also acquiring center Daniel Gafford from the Washington Wizards. The addition of Washington gives Dallas a much-needed boost in the frontcourt.
Washington Expected to Make Impact
Washington, 24, is a versatile forward who can play both power forward and center. He has averaged 11.4 points and 5.6 rebounds per game this season while shooting 53.9% from the field.
Hornets Acquire Draft Assets
The Hornets, meanwhile, have acquired a young player in Williams, a veteran in Curry, and a first-round pick. Williams, 24, has played a limited role for the Celtics this season, while Curry, 33, is a reliable three-point shooter.
